We understand that navigating the changes that come with college can be challenging. Whether you’re advocating for yourself academically or navigating new social instances like roommates, friends, and relationships, it can be a time full of self-exploration.

You might need extra support, whether for test-taking anxiety, transferring meds, finding the right prescription, or simply seeking a supportive care system; there is no problem too small.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive care tailored to your unique needs and see you through this journey.

College Is No Cakewalk

So how does this work?

What Should I Look For When Choosing a Psychiatrist?

TRUST 2 Ensure they’re approachable and can relate to your college experience.
LOCATION 1 Check our map to ensure they operate in your state.
PRESCRIPTION 3 If you need ADHD medicine or any controlled substance prescribed, confirm their ability to prescribe medication in your state.
TIME 4 Assess if there is a plan that works for both in terms of treatment length, appointment times and frequency.
RELATABILITY 5 Do they understand your social context and have curiosity about your world?

Can my Insurance Cover This?

Unfortunately, the US healthcare system isn’t student-friendly. It relies on private insurance, which often makes it harder to get the help you need, especially for mental health.

That’s why, like many private psychiatry practices, The College Psychiatrist doesn’t work directly with insurance. We are a practice that allows you the ability to work with the whole family, so we are happy to set up a call with your parents to talk about getting you access to the care you need.
